Suppose that...
Little Town is your neighborhood. This neighborhood is made up four families: Smith, Jones, Martin and Cook. All the people in your neighborhood, including you, have been identified as carriers of a gene that make them inferior to other people. Therefore, the Government and society at large have unanimously decided that all of you should be separated from the normal in habitants of the USA and its territories. In some states the people have voted for the separation of your neighborhood from the rest of the American community. Society believes that this separation is necessary for national safety and the well-being of th e economy. Therefore, the people of Little Town will have no access to school, jobs, or any other privileges that are given to other members of society, including the rights to own property and to marry people outside their group. The schools have also de cided that the children of the USA should not be taught anything about the history of the people in Little Town because everything that the inhabitants of Little Town have thought or said is culturally inferior, since it comes from people which are biolog ically inferior. But, you and the people in your neighborhood need to survive.
After considering the above, please answer the following questions by writing a thoughtful essay:
What will be the consequences of being treated like this for these families, in terms of their levels of economics, health, crime, and education? How does the community of Little Town survive? What strategies will they use? What will your history be 50 years after the decision that declares you inferior? How can you improve the situation of your community?
